Mrs.
Baker is the chorus and strings teacher at Lawton Chiles Middle Academy
in Lakeland, Florida, and has served in this position since 2002. In her
time here at LCMA, her students have received high honors at multiple
music competitions.

Mrs.
Baker has taken her students to perform in locations such as
Atlanta, Georgia, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, as well as Tallahassee and
Disney World in Florida. In 2004, Mrs. Baker’s orchestra achieved third
place at the Six Flags Music Festival in Atlanta, GA. In 2006, a
first place standing and straight superiors were received at the
Smoky Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Since
joining the staff at LCMA, Mrs. Baker has taken on many leadership
roles. Currently serving as the Florida Orchestra Association District
12 secretary, she is also a certified orchestra judge, the school
wellness coordinator, and the music department chair. She has also been
a member of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra and has served as a
conductor for the 2006 Polk County All-County 6 & 7 grade Orchestra.
Mrs.
Baker has worked under the direction of Derric Johnson, the creator of
Candlelight and the founder of the Voices of Liberty at Disney World and
has enjoyed participating in Disney’s Candlelight Service.
Mrs.
Baker is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in
music and communications. She specialized in voice and cello and now
enjoys performing in many churches where she acts, sings, and plays the
cello.
